Mesh and Netting Fabrics PDF Print E-mail

When I first started in this industry many years ago customers used to inquire, “Do you sell netting?” And when I described the net line: # 252, 420, and 504 etc… (our sports  line for golf, soccer and baseball containment) the usual response was, “I’m sorry, but I was looking for something with much smaller openings.” I would then say, “Oh you mean mesh?” I’ve learned a lot since those early days, and one very important lesson was that one company’s netting was another company’s mesh. And mesh we have- over one hundred styles of various polyester and nylon products with end uses from the marine aquaculture industry through zoology butterfly net manufacturing.

Which begs the question, “is there really a difference between mesh and net?” At its core there really is not a difference between mesh and net- technically. The process to create both is essentially the same: the use of polyester or nylon fibers used on an industrial knitting machine and then dyed and finished to create a product to fill the needs of the end user manufacturer or individual.

Connotatively however, there is usually a line in the sand when a mesh becomes a net. History has shown me that any product with a hole opening a ½” or bigger is usually described as a net. Of course there are always exceptions such as the previously mentioned butterfly net. Typical end users of netting would include golf ball containment, soccer goals, lacrosse perimeter netting and baseball batting cages, as well as various cargo nets. An end user of mesh could be found in any of the fifty plus industries we currently sell to such as abrasive scrubbers for mops, juvenile products and high visibility outdoor safety vests.

The Jason Mills mission is a simple one, provide the best possible, cost effective product for the task at hand, and at the same time provide the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE INDUSTRY.

One final thing, ALL OF OUR MULTI-FILAMENT POLYESTER OR NYLON MESH PRODUCTS ARE KNIT, DYED AND FINISHED IN THE USA!

We look forward to discussing your fabric needs. Please call us or email to discuss how we can help.
